This motivated climber is only a junior in high school. Adam is originally from Newton, MA, but attends the Holderness School in Plymouth. He has skied at Loon since he was a child, and remembers watching the coaches and students from New England DisabledSports out on the slopes. He was so impressed with all the amazing things that the coaches and students were able to accomplish that he decided to get involved with theprogram himself. Adam started volunteering during thewinter months when he was a young teen, and has now decided to do even more. It was freshmen year in high school when Adam and his parents put their heads togetherand came up with the fundraising idea. As an avid hiker, Adam climbed a few of the 4000 foot peaks as a child, but not all of them. He always hikes with a family member or a friend, and so far, has completed each summit in one day. He does plan to do some overnights though, before he reaches his goal. As of mid July, Adam had hiked 12 of the peaks. The rainy weather in June was a challenge, and limited the number of days that he could hike. He and his dad even had to swim through a river in order to make it to the top of the Hancocks! If you would like to learn more about Adam’s quest for 48 peaks, and support him in his efforts, check out his fundraising page and make a donation. It’s that easy!
