The New England Disabled Sports and Loon Mountain can breathe easier due to the generous donation of Mr. Tom Adams. The land around the NE Disabled Sports Center got a little facelift with the addition of a Japanese style garden. This garden consists of 19 trees, several types of shrubs, perennials, and annuals. There will also be a new path constructed next to the lunch rock for everyone to enjoy. Mr. Adams, the 2007/8 NE Disabled Sports Volunteer of the Year and retired Landscape Architect, wanted to make sure that the NE Disabled Sports Center was appealing to the eye from the inside to the outside.
In summers past the west side of the Loon Mountains parking lot has not sustained much activity. Now with NE Disabled Sports year round programs and Mr. Adams generous donation of the Japanese style garden; life, beauty, and activity has been brought back to this area. New England Disabled Sports Board of Directors and Staff would like to personally thank Mr. Adams for this incredible gift to be enjoyed by everyone. If you would like to personally thank Mr. Tom Adams you can find him manning his post behind the front desk of NE Disabled Sports all winter long. |
