New England Disabled Sports is proud to offer limited internships to students who have an established partnership with any New England university’s Occupational Therapy or Sports Management programs studying Recreation, Tourism, Sports Management or a related field. NEDS interns to date have hailed from Occupational Therapy Programs from Tuft’s University, the University of New Hampshire, MCPHS, and the University of Chicago and Plymouth State University’s Sports Management Program.
Applications for internships are due a year in advance. For a winter internship, positions are awarded by the end of March, and for a summer internship, positions are awarded by the end of October.
Our interns are responsible for creating and facilitating adaptive sports experiences for our students living with disabilities and, will collaborate with our coaches to make these experiences a reality, allowing NEDS students to continue to ‘break barriers.’ A NEDS Intern will gain real world experience in non-profit management and leadership, creating and executing adaptive sports programs, project management in addition to the many other skills required to manage and execute a nationally recognized adaptive sports program.
